I tried manually downloading a mod using Steamcmd and it seems that option is disabled. I've been looking into mods for it and it seems most of the mods are on Steam and can't be obtained elsewhere or are not updated often elsewhere. I've put about 24 hours into it so far and it's pretty fun. I bought Surviving Mars from GOG on Monday, August 6.
